We have been looking forward to showing off this newest addition to the growing trail network at Høgevarde! The trail is categorized as a red trail, which is suitable for experienced cyclists. It has been named Battlescar, and we think it is an appropriate name for a somewhat demanding trail… The length of the trail is about 2.5 km, and it starts from the top of Fjellheisen and ends at Lavvoen.

The trail is a so-called airflow trail, which in practice means that here it is possible to get air under the wheels. However, there are no obstacles along the way that cannot be rolled with the wheels on the ground all the time, so the threshold for trying it out should not be too high if you feel that you have mastered the blue trail Forkbeard well.

Along the trail, there are several hugely beautiful vantage points where you get a panoramic view of the mountains Høgevarde (1459), Hesteleinnattan (1183), and Hestgjuvnatten (1068).

The trail has been built by World Trail in collaboration with Høgevarde AS and Flå Sti og Sykkel AS and has received partial funding from lottery funds and Sparebankstiftelsen Hallingdal

This is what it looked like when Terrengsykkel.no got an exclusive test ride down Battlescar, on the rear wheel of trail builder king Glen Jacobs.

WHERE DO YOU FIND BATTLESCAR?

Briefly: The trail starts at the summit of the Fjellheisen ski lift. The easiest way to get to the starting point by yourself is by cycling up the cottage roads in the area.

You can find Battlescar, and the other trails on Høgevarde, on Trailguide.
